Shirley A. Speckhart, 90, Enjoyed Crafts and Photography

She was born May 29, 1930 in Lorain to Michael & Mary Porostovsky (nee Zakutny) and had been a lifelong Lorain resident.
Shirley was able to earn her high school diploma at Admiral King High School in 1981. She attended Lorain County Community College.
She has owned and operated Shirley’s Bar on Broadway in Lorain since 1971. Prior to that, she worked at Rufo’s on Broadway in Lorain for 25 years where she was a photo developer.
Shirley was a member of St Peter Parish in Lorain. She enjoyed couponing, working in her yard, bowling, crafts and photography.
She is survived by her children: Cary Speckhart (Vicky) of Huber Heights, Alyson Turner (Fred) of Vermilion Township and Mary Kaye Speckart of Lorain; grandchildren: Dee Ann, Ann Marie, Jason, Jennifer, Kimberly, Dawn, Daniel, Brian, Robert, Stacy, Tiffany & Samuel; 18 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Edward Speckhart in 1982, grandson Edward Speckhart, brothers: Michael, Robert, George & Richard Porostovsky and Lester Porter and sisters: Lillian Archambeau, Ethel Nocjar, Marian Susanjar, Carol Myers and Virginia Myers.
The family will receive friends Monday April 5, 2021 from 6:00 -8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. All attendees are required to wear facial coverings and follow COVID-19 social distancing protocols during the wake and funeral. Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 6, 2021 at 11:00 am in the funeral chapel. The Rev. Craig Hovanec, pastor of St Peter Parish, will preside. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
