Marlene E. Kocak, 83, Enjoyed Traveling

Marlene‘s legacy continued following her untimely death as a full organ and tissue donor through Life Banc.
Born in Ypsilanti, Michigan on December 12, 1937, Marlene grew up in her native Michigan and was a graduate of Lincoln High School
After raising her family, she relocated to Denver where she embarked on a seventeen year career as an airline reservationist for United Airlines.
Marlene loved both domestic and international travel and proclaimed England as her favorite place to visit. Additional interests included gardening and reading with a special focus on current events and pop culture.
She is survived by her husband of twenty-two years Jerome, and daughters Jill Franz of Canton, Michigan and Karen Reichle of Olmsted Falls. She also leaves her daughter-in-law Michele Flanagan of Avon, step-children Mark Kocak (Marianne) of Amherst, Chris Vail (Michael) of Nebraska, Brian Kocak (Brenda) of Dublin, Jane Truskot (James) of Amherst, and John Kocak (Rebecca) also of Amherst. Additional survivors include eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, eleven step grandchildren, three step great grandchildren, and step-brother Mike Currier residing in Milan, Michigan..
She was preceded in death by her son Robert Flanagan, parents Eldon and Eleanor (nee Howling) Baisch, and step-brother Ivan Currier.
Friends may call Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her memorial service at 11:00 a.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel -3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Reverend Ryan Kocak will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, Marlene’s family encourages donations in her memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
