Anita Marie Edwards, 55, Enjoyed Helping Family at Grobe Fruit Farm

She was born December 9, 1965 in Amherst. She graduated from Elyria West High School in 1984 and from Lorain County Community College with her associate in business.
Anita’s largest passion was being able to work and help out her family at Grobe Fruit Farm. She enjoyed visiting with customers at the roadside stand who have become like family over the years. She liked assisting in the apple cider operation, being a part of the Elyria Apple Festival farm booth and you could always find her by the pumpkin pile under the walnut tree every fall.
Anita worked for New York Life Insurance Agent, Marge Aldrich Baumholtz for many years, as well. She was an Ohio Notary Public.
Anita had a strong faith, which got her through the hard days without showing any pain or fear. She was a life-long member of the Elyria First United Methodist Church. Every year, Anita decorated the altars for Thanksgiving with harvest bounty from the family farm. She was a member of the financial committee and helped with rummage sales at church.
Anita and her husband Dave belonged to the Elyria Elks #465. They were members of the Saturday Night Bowling Couples League for 25 years. She holds the woman’s highest single game of a 288.
She was a life long member of the Sunshine Club where she played the card game 66 with close neighbors, family and friends.
Her biggest accomplishments in life were the accomplishments and successes of her children. She was beyond proud of Emily and Tyler. She couldn’t wait to see Emily become the first doctor/surgeon in the family. She couldn’t wait to see Tyler graduate from The Ohio State University and flourish in the agriculture field.
Anita enjoyed baking, cooking and decorating for all holidays. She was known for her homemade buttercream frosting and decorated birthday cakes. She loved flowers and had a green thumb in the garden. She enjoyed cross-word puzzles and reading.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 28 years Dave; loving children, Emily And Tyler; dear mother, Annette (nee Gnizak); brother, Allen; sister-in-law, Laurie; nephews, Brett (Brooke), Keith and Kyle (Megan); mother-in-law, Shirley; brother-in-law Doug. She was preceded in death by her father Jim and father-in-law Richard.
