Michael Joseph Repko, 72, Avid Sherbet Lover

Michael Joseph Repko, age 72 of Lorain, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 23.

He was born on March 22, 1949 in Lorain and lived many years in nursing homes; he was an avid sherbet lover.

Michael was predeceased by father Robert, mother Cassimira and brothers Robert and Ronald. He is survived by sister Mary Beth Banko (Paul) of Vineland, New Jersey and brother Thomas Repko (Toni) of Apision, Tennessee. He also leaves behind Aunt Jeanette (Inky) Flontek, nieces Lauren Banko and Bryanna and Gabriella Repko and nephews Nick Banko and Greyson Repko.

The family would like to thank Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin, Ohio for their care of Michael, Mercy New Life Hospice of Lorain, Ohio for the comfort they provided Michael, and Advocacy and Protective Services, Inc. (ASPI) for making sure he was getting the best care. The family would also like to thank the Weber Health Care Facility, Wellington for his early care and employment and REM Ohio residential home in South Amherst for the care they provided.

Due to the Coronavirus a Celebration of Life will be held later in the summer. Private burial has taken place at Calvary Cemetery. Reverend John C. Retar presided. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel.
