Charlene Zajac, 65, Skilled in Needle-Craft
Charlene Zajac (nee Balogh), age 65, of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on the morning of Thursday June 3, 2021.She was born in Lorain on February 22, 1956 and remained a life-long resident of the city. Charlene was a 1974 graduate of Admiral King High School.
For the past forty-six years she had been employed in the dietary and laundry service departments at the Lake Pointe Health Center as well as its predecessor, the Ohio Extend Care Center.
She was skilled in needle-craft and liked knitting and crocheting in her free time. She especially enjoyed making items for newborn infants. Charlene was also an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, Indians, and Cavaliers.
She is survived by sisters Bonnie White of Huron, Judy Balogh and Linda Reyes both of Lorain, Pam Roth (Bill) and Darlene Turizziani (Brian) both of Wakeman, and brother Frank Balogh of Lorain. She also leaves her special friend and co-worker Maria Velazquez, and her beloved pet German shepherd, Max.
Charlene was preceded in death by her husband Frank Zajac, Sr. in 2009, by her father Gregory Balogh, Sr. in 1996, mother Margaret Balogh (nee Ach) in 1981, brother Gregory Balogh, Jr. in 2004, nephew Jerry White in 1986, and niece Tara Balogh in 2004.
Graveside services will be conducted privately at Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel.
