Michael R. Bastock, 66, Enjoyed Golf and All Sports
Michael R. Bastock, age 66, of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on the morning of Friday June 4, 2021.He was born in Lorain on January 14, 1955 and remained a life-long resident of the city.
He graduated from Lorain High School as a member of the Class of 1973. While a student there, he was a varsity letterman on both the basketball and baseball teams. He subsequently enrolled at Kent State University and received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Law Enforcement.
Mike had been employed as a material handler at Ford Motor Company’s Brookpark facility for more than a quarter century. A long-time member of United Autoworker’s Local 1250, he retired from the automaker in 2016.
In his free time he enjoyed golf and all sports.
Survivors include his brothers Brian C. Bastock (Amy) of Lorain and Robert J. Bastock, Jr. (Jacqueline) of Amherst. He also leaves nieces Ashley Bastock of Amherst and Stephanie Bastock of Lorain.
Mike was preceded in death by his mother Mary Bastock (nee Captain) in 2000 and father Robert J. Bastock, Sr. in 2003.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Burial will take place later in Elmwood Cemetery.
