Mary F. Burtze, 80, Dedicated Wife and Mother
Mary F. Burtze, (nee Znanenak), age 80, of Elyria, passed away peacefully at her residence on the evening of Saturday June 19, 2021 while under the care of her loving family and assisted by the Hospice of the Western Reserve.Mary was born in Lorain on August 19, 1940 and was a graduate of Lorain High School; she had been a resident of Elyria since the mid 1960’s.
A dedicated wife and mother, she enjoyed attending belly-dancing classes and working with ceramics in her free time. She had also built an extensive collection of salt and pepper shakers.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-one years Frank Burtze, Sr., sons Frank Burtze, Jr. and Brian Burtze (Chrissy) both residing in Elyria, along with Robert Burtze of Prospect Hill, North Carolina. She also leaves her daughter Diane Copely (Johnny) of Wellington, six grandchildren, and half sister Kathy Antus of Lorain.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Rudy and Martha (nee Whitfield) Znanenak, step-brothers Sam and Joe Farsetti, and step-sister Margaret Engene.
