Boris Lazoff, 86, Owned and Operated The Sands Lounge

Photo of Boris Lazoff Boris Lazoff, 86, of Lorain, called “Bobo” by many, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends, Monday, August 23, 2021. He was born on May 16, 1935.

His family, faith, and friends were his life. He was proud of his Macedonian heritage and very active in the Saints Cyril Methodius Orthodox Church of Lorain.

Boris graduation from Lorain High School and continued his education at Bowling Green State University. He worked for Ohio Department of Transportation and owned and operated The Sands Lounge in Lorain for 25 years. He was the president of the Ohio Liquor Dealers Association, president of Fraternal Order of Police Associates Lorain Lodge #46, and Precinct Committeeman for the City of Lorain. Bobo enjoyed sponsoring bus trips to casinos.

Boris is survived by his loving and devoted sister Olga Lazoff, three nieces and their family, and one nephew.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Nasto and Menka Lazoff, daughter Shannon, and brother George.

His family will receive friends at Saints Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Church, 3056 Reeves Ave, Lorain, Ohio 44053 on August 31, 2021 between 4:00 and 8:00pm. There will be a Trisagion service held at 7:00pm. Funeral service will be held at the church on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 10:00am. Rev. Father, Paul G. Monkowski, Rector will officiate. The burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Boris to his church.
