Clarence W. Dorsz, 59, Enjoyed Playing Golf

Photo of Clarence W. Dorsz Clarence W. “Chugger” Dorsz, age 59, of Lorain, passed away at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home on the morning of Monday August 23, 2021 following an extended illness.

Born in Lorain on July 29, 1962, Chugger had been a life-long resident of Lorain.

He was a graduate of Clearview High School where he played basketball and was a varsity letterman on the football team. Following graduation, he attended Hiram College and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Communication. While enrolled the school, he served as the statistician for the girl’s basketball and volleyball teams.

Following graduation, he worked as a sales associate for the Bobbie Brooks Company in Cleveland. He later worked as a substitute teacher for the Clearview, Columbia Township, and Sheffield / Sheffield Lake School Systems. He was also the owner of Chugger’s Drive-Thru Beverage on Cooper-Foster Park Road in Lorain for many years.

In his free time Chugger enjoyed playing golf and all spectator sports.

He leaves his mother Anna Kish (nee Palagyi) of Lorain, sisters Clarice Demetzky (Daniel) of North Ridgeville and Theresa Kish-Gibbons (Stephen) of Elyria, brother Michael Kish (Denise) of Elyria, and a host of nieces and nephews. Chugger was preceded in death by his father Clarence Dorsz in 1963, stepfather Robert Kish in 2000, sisters Monica Kish and Barbara Kish, maternal grandmother Rose Palagyi, and niece Yvonne Kish.

Visitation will be Friday from 12:00 noon until the time of funeral services at 1:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Reverend Gerald J. Keller will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
