Virginia L. Nicoloff, 91, Loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother

Photo of Virginia L. Nicoloff Virginia L. Nicoloff (nee Plas), 91 of Lorain, passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021, in Huntington Woods, Westlake.

She was born on September 15, 1929, in Avon the daughter of Clarence and Anna (nee Sarnovsky) Plas. She graduated from Lorain High School in 1947. She married Walter Nicoloff on February 8, 1948, and the two lived in Lorain for 61 years before his passing in 2009.

Virginia was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Family time was very important to her, and Virginia loved to spend time with all her grandchildren and children together. She was an avid cook, an excellent baker, enjoyed gardening and doing needlepoint.

Virginia was an active member of Saint Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Church in Lorain. She enjoyed singing in the choir and helping the parish members preparing for special events. She also liked to swim and go to water aerobics with her friends.

Virginia will be dearly missed by her sons; Tom Nicoloff of Lorain, Tim (Carmel) Nicoloff of Las Vegas, and Bob (Sheila) Nicoloff of Florida; sister-in-law Raya Nicoloff of Lorain, eight grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by her loving husband Walter Nicoloff in 2009; sons, John Nicoloff, and Don Nicoloff; and parents Clarence and Anna (nee Sarnovsky) Plas.

Her family will receive friends Thursday, September 16, 2021, from 4 to 8 PM at the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain.
