Carol M. Moore, 90, Enjoyed Needlepoint and Attending Concerts

Carol M. Moore (nee Arndt), age 90, of Lorain, passed away at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home due to complications of the Covid-19 virus on the evening of Monday September 21, 2021.

Carol was a graduate of Clearview High School where she was a member of the choir. Following her graduation, she enrolled at M.B. Johnson School of Nursing (Elyria) where she completed the three year curriculum for licensure and state certification as a registered nurse. She subsequently worked as an R.N. at Elyria Memorial Hospital, Wellington Southern Lorain County Community Hospital, and Lorain Community Hospital. Most recently, she had been employed in the same capacity by the Elyria United Methodist Home from which she retired.

Carol was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Lorain. An avid fan of all three Cleveland professional sports teams, she enjoyed needlepoint and attending concerts with her friend, Gladys Harland, in her free time.

She leaves daughters Susan Findley (Larry) and Sandra Moore both of Lorain, along with sons Dean Moore (Cherry) of San Antonio, Texas, Kevin Moore (Mary) of Centereach, New York, and Dale Moore of Lorain. Additional survivors include her sister Lola Rakar of Lorain, brother Charles Arndt of Strongsville, thirteen grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband Doye Moore in 1969, parents Carl and Gladys (nee Warner) Arndt, and granddaughter Lisa.

Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Carpel – 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel with Reverend David Rogers, pastor of St. John United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
