David A. Diaz Sr, 69, Loved Spending Time with Family and Grandchildren

He was born April 21, 1952 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain resident.

David graduated from Lorain Admiral King High School and worked in maintenance at the Wesleyan Village facilities in Sheffield Village and Elyria. He also operated Zibby’s Lawn Care for over 20 years.

David loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed camping at Rustic Lakes campground and was an avid Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavs fan.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years Gladys Diaz (nee Ruiz), children: David A. Diaz Jr (Melissa) of Lorain, Steven Diaz (Evelina) of Lorain and Amanda Vannatter (Les) of Wellington; grandchildren: Katelynne Wilson, Arianna Diaz, Mia Diaz, Holiday Diaz, Valentyne Diaz, Violet Diaz, Soroya Diaz, Isabelle Diaz, Envyus Adoptante, Santino Humphries, Emoni Humphries, Kamere Humphries, Gwenyth Vannatter, Lauren Vannatter and Stella Vannatter; brother Salvador Diaz Jr (Pam) of Elyria & sisters: Joyce Oliger (John) of Columbus, Cynthia Bisgrove (Tom) of Lorain and Georgette McGarvey (Bob) of Wakemen. He was preceded in death by his parents Salvador & Dolores Diaz (nee Estrada).

The family will receive friends Thursday September 30, 2021 from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Friday October 1, 2021 at 11:00 am in the funeral chapel. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
