Nancy A. Mehring, 78, Enjoyed Reading Books and Crocheting
Nancy A. Mehring (nee Jezewski), 78, of Lorain, died Tuesday September 28, 2021, at her home after a brief illness.
She was born June 13, 1943, in Elyria and had resided in Lorain most of her life.
Nancy graduated from Lorain High School and the M.B. Johnson School of Nursing. She then earned her bachelor’s degree of Nursing from Ashland University.
Nancy worked as a Registered Nurse at Elyria Memorial Hospital for most of her 34-year career and retired from Amherst Hospital in 2001.
She was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She enjoyed reading books, search word puzzles and crocheting having made blankets for many of her family.
She is survived by her children: Gregory Mehring of Lorain and Stacey Mehring (Robert Mangen Jr) of Lorain and grandchildren: Angeleah Mehring (Tiya) and Skylar Mehring. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Mehring and parents Stacy & Mary Jezewski (nee Sicsik).
The family will receive friends Friday October 1, 2021, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Saturday October 2, 2021, at 10:30 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 1454 Lexington Ave, Lorain. The Rev Gerald Keller will preside. Burial will follow in St Mary Cemetery in Elyria.
