Nicholas Ricardo Ferrara, 67, Cherished His Family

Photo of Nicholas Ricardo Ferrara Nicholas “Nick” Ricardo Ferrara, 67, was called home Friday, October 22, 2021, while holding the hand of his wife, Denise Ferrara (nee Zawierucha).

Above all, Nick cherished his family. High school sweethearts, he and Denise shared fifty beautiful years, walking together through rain and shine. He was a devoted father to their two children, Kendra and Devin, and adored being “Papa” to his grandchildren.

Nick was intensely charismatic, the kind of man who lit every room he walked into and made friends in the line at the supermarket. He was technologically skilled and creatively gifted as a painter and musician. A connoisseur of classic rock, he loved The Beatles best, and was never known to turn down good pizza or chocolate.

Nick’s earthly life is celebrated by his wife, Denise; his children, Kendra (George) Lane and Devin (Sara) Ferrara; grandchildren, Ihra, Enzo, Marisol, and soon-to-be Felix; sister, Diana, brother, David; aunts, uncles, cousins, and innumerable friends.

He was welcomed in heaven by his loving parents, Mary (Diaz) Ferrara and Felix Ferrara, grandparents, and many others who missed him very much.

Respects can be paid in the gathering area at Saint Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion, Ohio 44089 on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Paul Schreiner, pastor of the parish will officiate.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel.
