Margaret Woodings (nee Pagacs), age 95, a long-time Lorain resident, passed away peacefully at Zusman Hospice in Columbus, Ohio on the evening of Saturday November 6, 2021.Born in Lorain on February 5, 1926, she was a graduate of Lorain High School.
Mrs. Woodings had been employed for many years as a head cashier for Fisher Foods, as well as its successor, Fisher-Fazio-Costa. Although working at a variety of the firm’s locations, she spent the majority of her career at the Midway Mall (Elyria) and Meister Road Plaza (Lorain) stores. A member of United Food & Commercial Worker’s Local 880, she retired from the grocery industry in 1984.
Margaret originally was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Lorain, and most recently attended Heritage Presbyterian Church in Amherst.
Devoted to her family and dedicated to keeping her life and home in order, she enjoyed reading in her free time. A former member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Mrs. Woodings received great enjoyment in accompanying and supporting her late husband with his activities in a host of Masonic organizations throughout Ohio.
Margaret is survived by her son Randall Woodings, daughter-in-law Deborah Keuhn Woodings, and grandsons Kent Woodings and Tanner Woodings.
She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Woody Woodings in 2016, father Frank Pagacs, Sr. mother Julia Pagacs (nee Tirpak), brothers Frank Pagacs, Jr. during World War II along with a second brother in infancy, and sisters Wilma Simms in 2003, Elvira Price in 2009, and Julia Polgar in 2010.
Funeral services for the immediate family will be conducted in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel with Reverend Jenni Walker-Noyes, pastor of Heritage Presbyterian Church presiding. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
