Zella J. Comstock, 86, Enjoyed Bingo and Cooking
Zella J “Dee Dee” Comstock (nee Heckert), 86, of Lorain, died Thursday November 25, 2021 at her home with her family at her side.
She was born April 25, 1935 in Butler, Pennsylvania and had resided in Lorain most of her life.
Dee Dee worked as a cook at various restaurants in Lorain. She enjoyed bingo, cooking and watching game shows.
She is survived by her children: Mary Jane Haviland (James), Shirley “Becky” Carrion (Jose), Sue Comstock (Barry DeWitt), Michael Comstock, Jerry Comstock (Gena), Robert Comstock (Tina), Wayne Comstock (Sue), Lillie Lenox and Anthony Comstock (Diana), many grandchildren and great grandchildren and brother Tom Heckert. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years Pete Bowers in 2003, parents Charles Nelson Heckert and Mary Heckert (nee Fiel), children: Russell, Albert and Danny Comstock and Debra Kay, sisters Darlene Bassett and Kay Spithaler and brothers Albert Heckert and Ron Heckert.
The family will receive friends Thursday, December 2, 2021, from 11:00 am-3:00 pm at the Lorain Senior Center, 3361 Garfield Blvd, Lorain. Private family funeral services will be held Friday with burial at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
Arrangements are under the direction of Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain.
