Angel L. Laureano, 81, U.S. Army Veteran

He was born January 3, 1940 in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico and had resided in Lorain most of his life.
Louie graduated from Lorain High School and then served with the US Army from 1961-1963 and had been stationed for a time at the Berlin Wall.
He worked at BF Goodrich in Avon Lake retiring after 32 years.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he served mass as a youth, served on the Small Church Community Group and the Prison Ministry Group and played the congas in the church choir.
Louie enjoyed lifting weights, was an avid jogger and enjoyed singing and music.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years Anna M. Laureano, children: Angel L. Laureano Jr, Thomas Laureano, Susan Gracia, Margie Torres and Nora McDonald (Stephen); sister Carmen Velazquez (Carlos), 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Tomas & Jesusa Laureano (nee Barbosa).
The family will receive friends Saturday December 4, 2021 from 9:30 am until 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 4301 Pearl Ave, Lorain. The mass of Christian Burial will begin Saturday at 10:30 am with the Rev William Thaden, pastor, presiding. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain where AMVETS Post #32 of Elyria will conduct military honors.
The family asks that all attendees wear masks during the wake and mass.
Arrangements are under the direction of Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain.
