Lucille G. Laschen, 94, Will Be Dearly Missed

Photo of Lucille G. Laschen Lucille G. Laschen (nee Tocchi), age 94, of Lorain, passed away at Amherst Manor Nursing Home on the morning of Friday December 3rd following a brief illness.

Born in Lorain on June 22, 1927, Lucy was a life-long resident of Lorain County and a graduate of Clearview High School.

She had been employed as a monitor and cashier for the Clearview Local Schools for more than twenty years prior to her retirement. Dedicated to her alma mater, Lucy also volunteered as a ticket seller at Clipper football and basketball games for more than a half century.

A parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church , she is survived by daughters Debbie Panchak of Elyria and Donna Konowal (Bob) of Amherst Township, along with son Allan Laschen of Amherst. She also leaves six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Additional survivors include sisters Honey Johns and Norma Flores both of Lorain, and brother Jack Tocchi.

Lucy was preceded in death by her husband William E. Laschen, Sr., son Williams E. Laschen, Jr., granddaughters Yvonne Laschen and Tara Neal, parents Carlo and Jane (nee Coville) Tocchi, and sister Tootsie McCleland.

Friends may call Tuesday form 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. At the request of Lucy’s family, all visitors are asked to wear facial coverings and to practice social distancing while in the funeral chapel. Graveside services will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in Ridge Hill Memorial Park with Reverend Neil G. Walters, Parish Administrator of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church presiding.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to the Laschen Family.
