Wilma M. Forman, 94, Lover of All Animals
Wilma M. Forman (nee Endrai), age 94, of Lorain, passed away peacefully at Amherst Manor Nursing Home on the evening of Wednesday December 15, 2021 following an illness of two years.She was born in Lorain on November 10, 1927 and remained a life-long resident of the city; Wilma was a graduate of Clearview High School.
She was a parishioner of St. Peter Parish in Lorain and had been employed as a customer care specialist for the K-Mart Store formerly located on Cooper-Foster Park Road. She retired in 1992 following a career that spanned nearly two decades with the retailer.
Wilma was well known for her prowess in the kitchen and loved for her renditions of chicken paprikas, stuffed cabbage, and baked kiffles. She was a lover of all animals and had fostered numerous pets for the Friendship Animal Protective League. She also liked meeting for monthly lunch dates with her former Clearview classmates.
She is survived by grandchildren Christopher Palagyi of Columbus, Joseph Palagyi, Jr. (Lucy Rivera), Keith Palagyi, and Tracy Palagyi all of Lorain, Jason Palagyi of Wakeman, and Dawn (nee Johnson) Stanforth (Tony) residing in Westerville. Additional survivors include great grandchildren Mac Bloom, Alexis Bloom, and Skyler Bloom all of Columbus, Caelan Bloom of Westerville, along with Cory Palagyi, Cathryn Palagyi, Cole Palagyi, Cailee Horvath and T.J. Horvath all of Wakeman. She also leaves nephews Paul Vargo (Sally) residing in Illinois and George Vargo residing in Connecticut.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband Joseph in 1975, daughter Barbara Johnson in 2011, parents German and Anna (nee Kamoscar) Endrai, brother George, and sisters Anna, Mary, and Eleanor.
Friends may call Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 12:00 noon in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Reverend Craig Hovanec, pastor of St. Peter Parish will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
