Philip Dorinski, 81, U.S. Navy Veteran

He was born in Lorain on September 12, 1940 and remained a life-long resident of the city.
Philip was a 1958 graduate of Clearview High School. He attended Ohio Northern University in Lima, Ohio for one year, then served four years in the United States Navy, from 1960 to 1964. He completed a four-year sheet metal apprenticeship in 1968 and spent his career as a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local #33.
Philip married Mary Bevi at St Peter Parish in Lorain in 1965. In his spare time, Philip enjoyed fishing (or as he would say, Catching!) and hunting. He was a member of the Polish Fisherman’s Club. He also spent a lot of time watching and hoping that the Browns would finally win again as much as they did in the Jim Brown era. He had an avid interest in books, films, and tv series about World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Mary, daughters Suzanne Dorinski of Temple Hills, Maryland, Deborah Addis, grandson David Addis Junior (Haleigh Durig), granddaughter Catherine Kelley (Amanda McCoy), great grandsons Gavin Huff and Jaxson Addis, and his beloved dog Half Pint, all of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by parents Frank and Harriet Dorinski (nee Van Niel) and brother Eugene Dorinski.
