Edward N. Yepko, 92, Avid Boater and Fisherman

He was born March 21, 1929 in Lorain and had maintained residences in both Lorain and Vermilion until the mid-1990s at which time Vermilion became his place of permanent residency.

Ed graduated from Lorain High School in 1947 and served with the US Army in the Signal Corps during the Korean War. Ed married the love of his life, Dolores, on September 18, 1950, in Monroe, Michigan.

He worked at General Motors as a tool and die maker retiring after 30 years.
Ed was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, the United Polish Club, Polish American Citizens Club and the Polish Legion of American Veterans, all in Lorain.

He loved being with his family, spending his winters in Englewood, Florida and playing cards. He was an avid boater and fisherman spending much of his free time fishing for Lake Erie perch and walleye and while in Florida, fishing for snook, setting traps for blue crab and picking clams.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years Dolores Yepko (nee Sender), son Dale Yepko (Jill); grandchildren: Wendy Snodgrass (Craig) and Mark Yepko and great grandchildren Madison, Morgan and Emma Snodgrass. He was preceded in death by his parents John & Susan Yopko (nee Bokshaw), brothers: Joseph, Hubert, Michael George, John and Peter Yepko and sisters: Mary Yepko, Margaret Krall and Helen Daniels.

The family will receive friends Saturday January 8, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 am at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 1454 Lexington Ave in Lorain. The mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am in the church with the Rev Gerald Keller presiding. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
