Andrew T. Gehlmann, 56, U.S. Army Veteran

Photo of Andrew T. Gehlmann Andrew T. Gehlmann, 56, of Lorain, died unexpectedly at his home on Friday January 21, 2022.

He was born November 20, 1965 in Lorain, graduated from Lorain Catholic High School in 1984 and attended Lorain County Community College. He served in the US Army from 1987 to 1991 and was stationed in Germany.

Upon his honorable discharge from the Army, he returned to Lorain and worked at Technifab, drove for Greyhound Bus Lines and most recently worked for Beckett Gas in North Ridgeville.

Andy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, traveling, skiing, boating, bike riding, attending sporting events and gardening. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan his whole life. He was also interested in history, current events and genealogy and was a faithful member of St Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Lorain.

Andy was a loving son to Donald (deceased) and Barbara Ann Gehlmann (nee Elder), loving brother to Teresa (deceased), Sheila, Tim (Stacey), Greg (Maggie), Sally, Walt (Mindi), Ray (Jenn), Michael (Laura), Cindy (Joe), Bernie (Donna) and Tom and loving uncle to 18 nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Monday February 21, 2022 from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Lorain. The family asks that all attendees wear masks. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday February 22, 2022 at 10:00 am at St Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 2143 Homewood Dr, Lorain. The Rev Neil Walters, pastor, will preside. (Please meet at the church) Burial will follow at Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
