Donald Buczynsky, 67, Most Cherished Moments Were Spent With His Family

Photo of Donald Buczynsky Donald Andrew Buczynsky, 67 of Lorain, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 at U H Elyria Medical Center from complications of COVID Pneumonia.

Donald was born on February 7, 1954 in Lorain. He was a lifelong resident. Mr. Buczynsky graduated from Southview High School in 1972. After high school, he spent 13 years working at the Lorain Steel Mill and 30 years until retirement working at Amherst Schools. Donald was a member of St. John Ukrainian Byzantine Catholic Church, Lorain where he was a member of a Ukrainian Dance group and a member of Plast Ukrainian Scouting organization.

In his free time, he coached his daughters softball, basketball and volley ball teams. Donald's most cherished moments were spent with his family and his grandkids who he absolutely adored. He loved watching movies, was an avid sports fan and a giant teddy bear.

Donald is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Colleen (nee Beiling) Buczynsky; daughters Amy Buczynsky and fiancé Ronald Burris, and Mara (John) Carder; sister Olga (George) Kamoutsis; grandchildren Logan, Savannah, Jolene and a granddaughter arriving soon; nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents Mykola and Mary Buczynski.

His family will receive friends at the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, Ohio 44055, (440) 277-8164, Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 2 to 6 PM, with Panakhyda service at 5 PM. His funeral will be at the funeral home Monday, January 31 at 10 AM. The Very Reverend Cannon, Father, Steven M. Paliowda, pastor of St. John Ukrainian Catholic Church will officiate.
