Miguel Bigio, Sr., 71, Former Educator at Lorain Admiral King High School and Polaris Career Center

He was born on July 14, 1950 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. Miguel graduated in 1969 from Lorain Admiral King High School.

Miguel was an educator at Lorain Admiral King High School for 24 years. After a short retirement he returned to his calling at Polaris Career Center. He was a valued member of his community and left lasting imprints on the lives of everyone he interacted with; both students and staff. Post retirement from Polaris Career Center, Miguel welcomed the next chapter of his life with zest and an appetite for adventure. Hand in hand with his best friend and wife, Miguel traveled all over the United States capturing beautiful landscapes with his camera. Miguel and his wife, Milly traveled through the states, not by airplane but rather on his beloved Honda Goldwing. Miguel was an avid Browns fan and also enjoyed fishing, cooking and brain teaser puzzles. His favorite pastime however, was always spending time with his wife and all of his family and friends.

Miguel will be deeply missed by his wife Milagro “Milly” Bigio (Nee Irizarry); his daughter Emily Bonafield (Justen), brothers Elias, Sixto, Pablo, Jose, Janer, Misael and sister Noemi. He will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Miguel leaves behind so many loved family members and numerous loved friends.

Miguel was preceded in death by his loving parents Pablo and Celestina Bigio, his brother George Bigio, his son Miguel Angel Bigio Jr., and his daughter Melissa Bigio.

His family will receive friends on Monday January 31, 2022 from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. at Cross Community Church, 525 N. Abbe Road, Elyria 44035 and again on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst. Masks will be required.
