Susan M. Bohach, 71, Accomplished Baker

Susan M. Bohach, age 71, of Lorain, passed away at Mercy New Life Hospice during the early morning hours of Saturday February 26, 2022.

Sue was born in Lorain on June 1, 1950 and remained a life-long resident of the city; she attended Lorain High School.

Sue was an accomplished baker and was highly successful in transferring those baking skills into a gratifying career. She was the proprietor of Susie’s You’ll Never Guess Bakery in Sheffield for many years which specialized in presenting sugar-free creations; she also developed an impressive client base selling cookies and nut rolls from her home during the winter holidays. She later worked in the bakery for Giant Eagle Markets.

Sue was regarded as a renaissance woman who could do it all. In her earlier years she worked as a welder and also as a horsewoman training and caring for Camelot Arab horses.

During her free time she enjoyed continuing her passion for baking as well as reading with a special interest in Amish romance novels.

Sue was also a devout parishioner of Nativity BVM Catholic Church in Lorain and solidified her faith by reciting the Holy Rosary on a daily basis.

Survivors include her daughter Nicole Niskey (Raymond L. Niskey, Jr.), and son Robert F. Starnes, Jr. She also leaves grandchildren Cory, Derek, Dillon, Nicole, and Brandon along with nephew Matt Wolfe. Additional survivors include brothers Dennis Bohach (Lynn), William Bohach (Joan), Kevin Bohach, Paul Bohach, and sister Connie Wolfe (Mike).

Sue was preceded in death by her parents William and Margaret (nee Lovas) Bohach, and sister Janet Wilson.

Please join Sue’s family for the celebration of her Mass of Christian Burial in Nativity BVM Catholic Church – 1454 Lexington Avenue, Lorain at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday March 3rd, 2022. Reverend Gerald J. Keller, Pastor Emeritus of St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Berea will officiate.
