Mary M. Schreckengost, 96, Loved All Sports

Mary was born in Lorain on February 1, 1926. Raised in Cleveland, she was a graduate of Jane Addams High School; she went on to attend Kent State University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
Mary had been employed as a school teacher for the Midview School System for many years prior to her retirement.
A former parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, she most recently attended St. Peter Parish. Mary loved all sports as well as travel. Additional interests included reading and quilting.
Survivors include daughters Nancy Adams of Chenoa, Illinois, and Pamela Shivak of Cape Coral, Florida, along with seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great great granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her husband Everett Schreckengost, daughter Linda Major, father Frank Bucher, mother Mary Raynak (nee Glavan), and sister Esther Siegfried.
Visitation will be Tuesday March 22nd in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain from 10:30 a.m. until the time of memorial services at 11:30 a.m. Reverend Craig M. Hovanec, pastor of St. Peter Parish will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
