Andrea L. Taylor, 79, Enjoyed Cooking and Gardening

Andrea L. Taylor (nee Bobinsky), age 79, of Lorain, passed away in the intensive care unit of Mercy Health Lorain Hospital on the afternoon of Wednesday March 23rd, 2022 following a brief illness.

Born in Chicago, Illinois on October 31, 1942, she came to Lorain during infancy.

Andrea graduated from Lorain High School and went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Toledo University.

She worked for a number of years as a registered nurse at the former St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain; she later worked for Lorain Electronics, Lorain Ship-To-Shore Radio Company, and the Lorain Clerk of Clerks. She completed her working career, in the job she found most fulfilling, serving as secretary at Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Lorain.

Andrea was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church where she volunteered many hours of her free time assisting the Marian Guild there. In her free time she enjoyed cooking and gardening and displayed a fondness for small animals including dogs and cats. In addition, she was a devotee of classical music, and an avid reader with a special interest in mysteries and romance novels.

She is survived by sons Andrew W. Taylor of Lorain and Allen C. Taylor residing in France.

Andrea was preceded in death by her husband William A. Taylor in 2012, father Andrew Bobinsky, and mother Katherine “Kay” Bobinsky (nee Jessel).

Please join her family for a celebration of her life from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday April 6th in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral chapel – 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. She will be buried next to her late husband during services conducted at Arlington National Cemetery.
