Mario Alberto Martinez, 72, Proud Father and Grandfather

Mario was born on April 4,1949 in Asherton, Texas to Daniel A. Martinez and Maria De La Luz V. Siller. Mario was a lifelong resident of Lorain. He graduated from Lorain Admiral High school in 1967. He worked for the Lorain Steel plant and C.E.I in Avon, OH as a boilermaker. Mario was a proud father and grandfather. He enjoyed riding his Harley, volunteering for community projects in South Lorain, camping, telling corny dad jokes, and going out to eat with his “best buddies”. He was also a proud member of the Chicanos.

Other than his parents, Mario was preceded in death by his grandparents Emilio Siller and Gregoria V. Siller; brothers Bobby, and Mario D. Martinez.

He is survived by his children Natalie A. (nee Martinez) Campanella, (Bradley), Kory L. Martinez, (Bethany Naro), and Steven Markus (Eva). His grandchildren Liam, Nico, Laila, Dominic and Nathan; sisters Marcie Sweat (nee Martinez) of Lorain, Graciela, Martinez Arrellano of California, Diana, Cynthia, Lorena, Patricia Martinez, and brother, Freddy Martinez of Oregon. He is also survived by his loving Nieces, Nephews and many cousins.

His family will receive friends prior to a memorial service at Sacred Heart Chapel 4301 Pearl Ave. Lorain, 44055 on Thursday April 7th at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, Mario’s children ask to consider, donating to Friends of South Lorain, 2138 East 39th Street, Lorain 44055.
