Carmen Torres, 61, Known for Her Cooking and Open-Door Policy

In the early 1980 Carmen decided to move to Ohio where she settled in, worked, and raised her own family. She met an amazing man Danny Lopez who helped raise her children as his own. Carmen became the mother and grandmother everyone loved.
Carmen was known for her cooking and her open-door policy. She made sure that no one ever went hungry. She was loved and adored by so many. Carmen enjoyed collecting Betty Boop, Elvis Presley, and Marilyn Monroe. Other than cooking, she loved, coloring, family gatherings, dancing, and motorcycle rides.
Carmen leaves in mourning, her sons, Edwin (Jenn) Ruiz, Nelson (Angela)Torres and Francisco Serrano; daughter, Rosemary Fernandez (Lamar Jackson); brothers, Jose A. Lopez, Hector Lopez, Jose M. Lopez; sister Carmen Atkinson; grandchildren Tatyanna, Maurice, Le’asia, Lamaya, Madeline, Sherman, Brizia, Sachie, Nelson, Celena, Anna, Destiny, Margo, Anthony, Courtland, Cohan, Illyeanna, Zanobia, Francisco, David, Tyler and Kyle; great grandchildren, Charlie, Evelyn, Mia, and Kai; as well as many more family and friends.
Carmen was preceded in death by her parents, Ana Marie Velez and Nelson A. Torres.
Her family will receive friends at the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, Wednesday, May 4, 2022 from 4 PM until time of her Celebration of Life at 7 PM.
