Frances M. Rottman, 95, Avid Cleveland Indians Fan
Frances M. Fran Rottman (nee Resek), 95, of Lorain, died Sunday April 24, 2022 at Mill Manor Nursing Home in Vermilion.
She was born January 28, 1927 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain resident.
Fran graduated from St Mary High School in Lorain. She was the last member of her club The Dreamers to pass. The club was established in high school and continued throughout their lives.
Fran worked as a server at Sutter’s Restaurant, as an operator at the Lorain Telephone Company and as a girls warden at the Lorain County Juvenile Detention Home.
She was a member of St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain and the church Marian Guild. She volunteered in the gift shop at St Joseph Hospital and as a poll worker. She was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, enjoyed sewing, dominoes, playing cards, walking, quilting and being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Douglas Rottman (Cheryl) of Boynton Beach, Florida, Susan O’Connor (Patrick) of Kent, Amy Rottman of Lorain, Barbara Rodak (Michael) of LaGrange; grandchildren: Rebecca Reimer, Roberta Rottman, Christopher Rottman, Rachael Anderson, Megan Rodak, Patrick A. O’Connor, Erin O’Connor, Sean O’Connor and Ryan O’Connor, 9 great granchildren and many loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Rottman in 2010, parents Joseph and Anna Resek (nee Teleha), grandson Jason Rodak, granddaughter Lisa Rose, sisters: Anna Foster, Agnes Tomazine, Mary Steiner, Josephine Horton and Beatrice Horton; infant brother Charles Resek, nieces Janet Novak and Mary Jo Horton and nephew Thomas Horton.
The family will receive friends Saturday April 30, 2022 from 9:30 am until the time of the mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 E Erie Ave, Lorain. The Rev Edward Smith, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
