Rachel Ann Topeka, 65, Enjoyed Gardening and Loved Animals

She is survived by her husband John M., a son John W. (Stephanie), brother David (Linda) Skalsky, sister Rebecca Skalsky and niece Vannessa McGregor.
Rachel grew up in Cleveland, OH and attended John Marshall High School, graduating in 1974. She spent more than 35 years as a wire transfer banker for several national banks. She lived in North Ridgeville, where she enjoyed gardening and maintaining her flowers, taking walks with her husband John and dog Cali, and ensuring the house was always tidy. Her love of animals and passion for helping them became second nature as she was committed to donating to the Cleveland APL.
Rachel fiercely battled a lengthy illness with amazing strength and spirit. She would do anything for her family and friends and loved them completely. Her family is grateful to know that she is finally at peace. The family will hold a private ceremony with a Celebration of Life gathering to be determined in the near future. Donations in her memory can be made to the Cleveland Animal Protective League, www.clevelandapl.org.
