George E. Binzer, 78, Worked in the North Ridgeville Police Department for 30 Years

He was born in North Ridgeville where he had been a lifelong resident.

He worked in the North Ridgeville Police Department for 30 years retiring as Captain in 1994. He was a member of the FOP and the Elyria Moose Club.

George loved model trains, remote helicopters, cars, woodworking, fixing anything, and was proud of being in the North Ridgeville book of history.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years Jane (nee Marquard), children Gregory E. (Teresa) Binzer of TN., Jonie Binzer of NY., Julie (Marc) Fairbanks of Avon Lake; grandchildren Ghena, Lucas, Laine, Stephanie, Zachary, Zoie, Spencer, Billy, Sandy; great-grandchildren Korbin, Emerie, Lucas, Daylen, Aubrey, Emily; nephews Michael and Gary Underwood; brother-in-law David (Cathy) Marquard; sister-in-law Joan (Tom) Barrett. He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Violet Binzer; sister Barbara; first wife Sandra Miller; brother-in-law Francis “Jay” Marquard; sister-in-law Janet “Gigi” Marquard.

Memorial visitation will be Tuesday June 7, 2022 from 5 to 8PM at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Memorial service will be on Wednesday at 11AM in the funeral home with burial to follow at Ridgeville Cemetery. Fr. Bob Franco will officiate.
