Beverle F. Gelb, 82, US Navy Veteran

She was born April 10, 1940 in Cleveland and had resided in Lorain most of her life.
Beve graduated from Conestoga High School in Berwyn, Pennsylvania. She served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War as a Personnel Clerk.
Beve worked at the Lorain City Health Department as a Deputy Registrar retiring in 2003 after 30 years.
She was a member of Agudath B’nai Israel Synagogue and the Jewish War Veterans Post #222. She served on the Lorain Veterans Council for Civic Improvement and was instrumental in opening the Valor Home in Lorain. She also served as the director of Salem Cemetery.
Beve enjoyed bowling and was an avid Cleveland sports fan. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her dogs.
She is survived by her sons: Grant Gelb (Patty) and Lee Gelb; stepchildren: Eric Robertson (Laura) and Vickie Wohlfeiler (Arthur); grandchildren: Aaron Gelb, Miranda Gelb (fiancé Jady Snyder), Asthon Gelb (Morgan), Trevor Robertson and Sydney Robertson; sister Brenda Romero (Ricardo MD) and niece Jenny Duck. She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years Marty Gelb on October 30, 1996 and parents Bill & Elaine Mayer (nee Shores).
A graveside service will be held Thursday August 4, 2022 at 10:00 am at Salem Cemetery, 1459 N Ridge Rd, Sheffield Township, with Mr Mark Jaffee, presiding. Military honors will be conducted by AMVETS Post #32 and the Jewish War Veterans Post #222.
