Guiseppe A. Cacchione, 84, Enjoyed Gardening

Photo of Guiseppe A. Cacchione Guiseppe A. “Joseph” Cacchione, 84, of Lorain, died Thursday August 4, 2022 at Mercy New Life Hospice while surrounded by his family after a brief illness.

He was born February 20, 1938 in Montenero Val Cocchiara Italy and had resided in Lorain most of his life.

Joseph worked at American Shipbuilding in Lorain and the Holiday Inn in Elyria retiring in 2016.

He was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain and the Lorain Montenero Club. He was a fan of WWE wrestling and enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by his son John Cacchione of Lorain, daughter Anna Cacchione-Rufo (James) of Lorain and brothers: Nicola Cacchione (Roseanne) of Lorain and Antonio Cacchione (Nancy) of Amherst. He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years Rosaria Cacchione (nee Coppola) in 2006, parents John & Ida Cacchione (nee Bonaminio) and sister Lilia DeMeis.

The family will receive friends Sunday August 7, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Additional viewing time will be held Monday August 8, 2022 from 10:30 am until the time of the mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 1454 Lexington Ave, Lorain. The Rev Craig Hovanec, parish administrator, will preside. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
