Michael W. Kuhar, 75, US Army Veteran
Michael W. Kuhar, 75, of Elyria, died Thursday August 4, 2022 at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain after a short illness.
He was born January 1, 1947 in Lorain and had been a lifelong area resident.
Michael graduated from Admiral King High School in 1965.
He served with the US Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medal and Vietnam Service Medal.
Michael worked as an IT Technician, Programmer and Manager for Hewlett-Packard retiring in 2009. Prior to that, he had worked in the same capacity at American Steel & Wire.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, computers, music and had played the organ.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Cheryl “Sherri” Kuhar (nee Lynchosky), son Michael A. Kuhar of Elyria, daughter Lora Kuhar (Michael Smith) of Lorain and brother William J. Kuhar Jr (Nancy) of Lorain. He was preceded in death by his mother Eileen V. Kuhar (nee Ardo) in 2008, father William J. Kuhar Sr and brother Mark Kuhar.
Private family funeral services will be held.
