Carol L. Wright, 67, Lived for Her Family

She was born in Lorain on January 10, 1955 to Stephen J. and Dorothy R. (nee Bonk) Sklarek and was the youngest of their nine children. She had been a resident of Sheffield Lake since 1975.
Carol grew up in Lorain and attended Nativity BVM Parish School and subsequently graduated with honors from Lorain High School; following graduation, she attended classes at Case Western Reserve University.
A parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Sheffield Lake, she had most recently been employed as a customer service representative at the Target store in Avon Commons; previously, she had worked for a number of years as a teller at the Sheffield Village branch of U.S. Bank.
On June 14 of 1974 Carol married John Wright. Together, they raised three children including Jonathan Wright (Tracy), and twin daughters Monica Wright (Brent) and Mindy Tracy (Randy). Her immediate extended family also includes grandchildren Jonathan, Nathan, Grayson, and Grace.
Carol was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, godmother, sister, aunt, friend, and caregiver all of her life. She lived for her family always making certain to attend and travel to games for her children and grandchildren. She was also a wine aficionado and devotee of classical musical who enjoyed attending Cleveland Orchestra concerts.
She will be dearly missed by her siblings Ron Sklarek (Evie) and Rose Jacobs (Al) both of Lorain, as well as Irene Scanlon of Springfield, Virginia. She will also be missed by her sister-in-law Bernice Sklarek of Lorain along with many nieces and nephews and dear friend Dan Gardner.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Wright, parents Stephen and Dorothy Sklarek, granddaughter Carly Wright, and siblings Margaret, Jim, Ralph, Steve, and Frank Slim.
Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will take place Tuesday beginning with closing prayers offered in the funeral chapel at 9:15 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church 715 Harris Road, Sheffield Lake. Reverend Stephen L. Shields, Pastor of St. Thomas and Reverend Theodore Marszal, Senior Parochial Vicar of St. Monica Parish in Garfield Heights will concelebrate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
