Nancy V. Schmittgen, 87, Enjoyed Decorating Her Home For Every Season and Holiday

She was born November 5, 1934 in Clairton, Pennsylvania and had resided in Lorain most of her life.
Nancy graduated from Clearview High School in 1953.
She worked for the Lorain City Clerk of Courts retiring after 20 years.
Nancy enjoyed decorating her home for every season and holiday, reading, gardening and sewing and had made Halloween costumes for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed her lifelong friendship with her club known as the Mum’s Club. She was a member of St Peter Parish.
She is survived by her sons: Michael Schmittgen of Lorain, Thomas Schmittgen (Janet) of Gainesville, Florida, Robert Schmittgen of Rocky River and Edward Schmittgen (Tami) of Buellton, California; grandchildren: Kurt, Kara, Erik and Evan Schmittgen; siblings: June Hanko, Phyllis Bartal and Phillip Yacobucci, all of Lorain and Toni Lowe (Lou) of Perrysburg and many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald E. Schmittgen in 2019, parents Anthony & Susan Yacobucci (nee Pavlik) and brother Howard Yacobucci.
The family would like to thank Kelly Wilms and her staff at Live Love Lake Senior Center and Mercy New Life Hospice for the care they gave to Nancy over the past few months.
The family will receive friends Thursday August 25, 2022 from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Friday August 26, 2022 at 11:00 am in the funeral chapel. The Rev Craig Hovanec, pastor of St Peter Parish will preside. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township
