Bienvenida Santiago, 72, Enjoyed playing Pool, Dominoes, and Cards

Photo of Bienvenida Santiago Bienvenida “Bonnie” Santiago, 72, of Lorain passed away Saturday, August 20, 2022, Mercy New Life Hospice Center, Lorain following lengthy illnesses.

She was born December 16, 1949, in Lares, Puerto Rico.

Bonnie along with her late husband Narciso ran and operated Casa De Lares, La Perla, Southerners, and the former Primos Restaurant.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain. Bonnie enjoyed playing pool, dominoes, cards, camping, cookouts, spending time with all her family and working on her garden. She was an avid fan of Cleveland Sports teams.

Bonnie will be deeply missed by her sons, Joseph Torres of Cleveland, Brando, Palle, Marco, Orlando and Francisco Santiago all of Lorain; daughters, Nilda Santiago of Las Vegas, Quirena Baxter and Marisol Santiago both of Lorain and Nicole Santiago-Collins of Florida; sisters, Carmen Rivera and Frances Torres of Lorain, Isabel Quinones of Olmsted Falls and Nilda Rau of Michigan; 32 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Bonnie was preceded in death by husband of 41 years Narciso “Palle” Santiago in 2010; brothers, Wilfredo, Johnny and Oscar Torres; and her parents Francisco Luciano-Torres and Teresa Martinez.

Her family will receive friends at the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, (440) 277-8164Tuesday, August 23, 2022 from 11am until 1pm funeral service. Rev. Mike Monge Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
