Elizabeth Kohazi, 89, Enjoyed Sewing for Family and Friends

Photo of Elizabeth Kohazi Elizabeth Kohazi (aka Elizabeth Koehazi) (nee Tajmel), 89, of Lorain, passed away on Wednesday August 31, 2022 at the Life Care Center of Elyria.

She was born November 27, 1932 in Csepreg, Hungary to Antal & Margit Tajmel (nee Szabo). She married in 1953 and lived in Hungary until the Hungarian Revolution in 1956 that led to her moving to Lorain.

Elizabeth was a homemaker most of her life and also worked as a cook at Dover Chalet Restaurant for 3 years and Aqua Marine for 7 years. She also proudly baby sat for the neighborhood children and enjoyed sewing for family and friends. She was a member of St Frances Cabrini Catholic Church and the Hungarian Reformed Church Sick Benefit Society.

She is survived by her daughters: Elizabeth “Lizz” Kohazi, Kathleen Anderson and her husband Brian and Maria Sue Koehazi; grandson Martin D. Farley (Tara Dawn) and great grandchildren: Brody Martin, Hunter Travis and Rockwell David. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 35 years Antal “Anthony” Kohazi in 1989, her parents and her siblings.

The family will receive friends Monday September 12, 2022 from 10:00 am until the time of the mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 2143 Homewood Dr, Lorain. The Rev. Neil Walters, pastor, will preside. The Rev. Peter Toth, pastor of Hungarian Reformed UCC, will be present to do the readings in Hungarian as well as provide a eulogy. Private burial will be held at a later date at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.

Memorial contributions can be made to St Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
