Ronald L. Baumert, 82, Owned Baumert Carpet Installers for over 40 years

Born September 2, 1940 to John Edward and Alice Marie (nee Quashnefski), he attended Lorain Schools and had lived in Lorain his entire life. He was a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous for over 40 years.
Ron started his career as a carpet installer for L & J Carpet Workshop before going into business on his own as Baumert Carpet Installers for over 40 years installing in Lorain County and surrounding communities. Ron enjoyed DIY home repairs, bowling with friends, for about 70 years-starting as a pin-setter at Broadway Lanes, fixing or repairing anything that was brought to him (always the correct part available on his workbench), family gatherings and playing with his cats, Diamond and Coal. He took great pride detailing his vehicles and taught every family member the correct way to do it. His hair also had to be perfect. He loved his family and loved to tease his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His comical personality and quick wit always added entertainment to gatherings.
Ron is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years Donna (nee Kokas) Baumert, two daughters, Dawn Zakrajsek and Stephanie Stammitti, both of Huron and a son, James Baumert of Elyria; he also leaves grandchildren Ryan (Marissa) Zakrajsek of Port St Lucie, FL, Jaime (Ron Pavlovic) Zakrajsek of Brookpark, Breanne Zakrajsek of Huron, Nicholas Canterbury of Huron, Matt (Kirsten) Baumert of Grafton, Caitie Baumert of Elyria, great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Reid and Mari as well as sister Darlene Wilhelms (Denny) of Cape Coral, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Kyle Miller, both parents, brothers, Gerald Whitney and Gene Baumert, sister, Jeanette Kish and son-in-law, Mike Stammitti.
