Robert S. Malinowsky, 69, Avid Fan of the Cleveland Browns and Indians

Photo of Robert S. Malinowsky Robert S. “Ski” Malinowsky, 69, of Lorain, died Tuesday September 13, 2022 at University Hospital Elyria Medical Center after a sudden illness.

He was born February 21, 1953 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain resident.

Ski graduated from Southview High School in 1971 where he played football and track. He worked at National Gypsum in Lorain as a Tow Motor Operator.

Ski was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and Indians and enjoyed collecting Browns and Indians memorabilia. He was known to make the rounds at St Lad’s Club, Maple Inn and the Mahd House. For many years, he bowled in leagues at Shoreway Lanes. He loved his dog Skeeter and enjoyed camping.

He is survived by his granddaughters: Samantha Ward and Mercedes and Myriah Fields; 8 great grandchildren and brother Stanley M. Malinowsky. He was preceded in death by his daughter Kristie Lynn Denney, parents Stanley E. & Mary Ann Malinowsky (nee Hoholski) and brother Daniel A. Malinowsky.

The family will receive friends Monday September 19, 2022 from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Tuesday September 20, 2022 at 11:00 am in the funeral chapel. The Rev Neil Walters, pastor of St Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Lorain, will preside. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
