Rita D. Tyree, 71, Enjoyed Spending Time with Friends and Family
Rita D. Tyree (nee Pruitt), 71, of Lorain, died suddenly Friday, September 23, 2022, surrounded by her family at Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin, New Jersey.
She was born March 4, 1951, in Lorain, Ohio to Owen and Dorothy Pruitt.
Mrs. Tyree worked for 25 years as a school bus driver, monitor and driver trainer. She won numerous safety awards and loved the children of her community.
Mrs. Tyree was a devout Christian member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, traveling, reading, going to church, going out to eat, the sun, pool, music and shopping.
She is survived by her brother Michael Pruitt; daughter, Jennifer D. Heitzenrater; sons Jeffrey D. Heitzenrater, Jonathan W. Tyree, and Joseph D. Tyree; and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 25 years, Sherman W. Tyree, in 2007 and daughter Diane Sue Bering in 1991.
The family will receive friends Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 1:00 PM until the time of prayer services at 2:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain.
