Jason R. Kucbel, 44, Loved Aviation, Travel, and Animals

Photo of Jason R. Kucbel Jason R. Kucbel, 44, of Lorain, died Monday October 3, 2022 at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus after a long illness.

He was born April 18, 1978 in Lorain and had been a lifelong area resident.

Jason graduated from Marion Steele High School in Amherst in 1997 and attended Lorain County Joint Vocational School. He worked with his father Ron on a number of electrical jobs, was a flight attendant for American Airlines and a cook a various Cleveland area restaurants.

Jason was a member of Amherst Eagles #1442 for over 20 years and volunteered regularly at many social events and fundraisers. He loved aviation, travel and animals and enjoyed living in the Cleveland area where he attended many events.

He is survived by his father Ronald J. Kucbel (Susan) of Lorain, brother Ryan J. Kucbel (Audra) of Canal Winchester; niece Penelope, nephew Wyatt and many aunts, uncles and cousins and friend and companion Kenny Hendershot. He was preceded in death by his mother Martha J. “Marti” Kucbel (nee Barno) in 2015, infant brother Matthew Kucbel in 1977, paternal grandparents John J & Mary Kucbel and maternal grandparents Bert & Elsie Barno.

The family will receive friends Saturday November 5, 2022 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am funeral services at Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Rev Daniel Divis, pastor of St Mary Catholic Church in Lorain, will preside. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain. A celebration of life will be held Sunday November 6, 2022 from 1:00-3:00 pm at Amherst Eagles #1442, 1161 Milan Ave, Amherst.
