Alexandria Ivancic, 91, Enjoyed Traveling, Playing Cards, and Knitting

Sandy was born in Lorain and attended Clearview High School where she was active in the theater and drama departments. Following her graduation, she enrolled at the Catholic University of America where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in speech and drama.
Sandy began her career working off camera in the television broadcast industry; originally filling positions in Cleveland and later in New York City. Following her marriage, she assisted her husband, Tom, in the ownership and management of the Riviera Swim Club on Oberlin Avenue in Lorain up until 1997 when the couple sold the business and eased into retirement.
Sandy was a parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township; she was a long-time member of the Altar and Rosary Society there and had also served as a committee and board member.
In her free time she enjoyed both continental and international travel, playing cards, and knitting. She also received great joy in entertaining family and friends.
Sandy is survived by her daughter Karen Pekare (Robert, Jr.) son Thomas M. Ivancic (Kimberly) and son-in-law David Haponek. She also leaves grandchildren Kourtney Williams (Roosevelt), Ryan Pekare (Jamie), Robert J. Pekare (Lori), Kaitlin Pekare, Kelsey Stump (Justin), Kevin Haponek, and Chad Haponek (Brittney), along with great grandchildren Jonathan and Charlotte Williams, Gavin and Henry Pekare, Parker, Cruz, and Baker Bree Haponek, and Benjamin Stump. In addition, she is survived by her brother Raymond Muzilla (Carol).
Sandy was preceded in death by her husband Thomas B. Ivancic in 2019, daughter Sheri Haponek in 2021, parents Stephen and Catherine Muzilla, brothers Edward, Stephen F., and Richard Muzilla, and sister Catherine T. Muzilla.
Visitation will be Saturday October 8, 2022 in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church (47295 North Ridge Rd. Elyria) from 12:00 noon until the time of her Mass of Christen Burial at 1:00 p.m. Reverend Neil Walters will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to either the Hospice of the Western Reserve or the Easter Seals Foundation.
