Mary Ann Milde, 82, Enjoyed Crocheting, Knitting, and Quilting
Mary Ann (Marie) Milde (nee Rybarczyk), age 82, of New Russia Township, passed away peacefully at her residence on the evening of Monday October 10th, 2022 following a brief illness.
She was born in Lorain on July 10, 1940 and was a graduate of Lorain High School.
Mary Ann began her working career as a secretary for the Lorain News. Later, she served as a bookkeeper at the Oberlin Country Day Camp and subsequently as a cafeteria aide and tutor at St. Stanislaus Parochial School in Lorain. Prior to her retirement in 2005, she had been employed as a cafeteria worker at St. Vincent de Paul Parish School in Elyria Township.
A long-time parishioner and Altar and Rosary Society member at St. Vincent de Paul, Mary Ann also once belonged to the Ladies Farmer Club as well as the Polish Legion of American Veterans and its traveling P.L.A.V. Drill Team.
In her leisure time she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and quilting; she also was an avid reader with a preference for romance novels. Most of all, she enjoyed cooking and entertaining for her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-nine years Leonard J. Milde, son Jeffrey Milde (April) of Clarksfield, and daughter Pamela Milde of Lorain. Mary Ann also leaves grandchildren Marisa, Justin, and Dale Milde, sisters Joan Dolly Zemanek (Florian), and Elaine Chambers, as well as brothers John Jack Rybarczyk, Richard Rybarczyk, and Ronald Rybarczyk (Monti), and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Mary (nee Zelek) Rybarczyk, sisters-in-law Gwen and Alice Rybarczyk, nephews Victor and Robert Zemanek, Thomas Unger, and great niece Jessica Unger.
The Milde Family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and caregivers at the Hospice of the Western Reserve for the loving care and compassion they provided to Mary Ann during the end stages of her illness.
Visitation will take place in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church 41295 North Ridge Road, Elyria, on Saturday October 15th from 9:30 a.m. until the time of her memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. Reverend Neil Walters, Parish Administrator will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
