Donald R. Collins, 74, US Army Veteran

He worked at Ford Motor Company for 43 years. After his retirement, he pursued his passion for golf, feeding the birds and serving his fellow soldiers in the Amherst Veterans Military Honor Guard. Donald had a profound love for family, thought deeply of all the men he served with in the honor guard and his dear golf buddies Butch, Eddie, Danny & John. He also enjoyed frequent visits to Amish Country. His dear smile and laugh will forever be in his family’s hearts. A US Army Veteran, he was awarded the Purple Heart for his service in Vietnam. God bless all those veterans who were.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence & Ruth Collins (nee Green). He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Beverly Collins (nee Forman) and sisters: Brenda, Carolyn, Juanita, Dottie, Pat & Debbie.

The family will receive friends Monday October 24, 2022 from 11:00 am -Noon at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Monday October 24, 2022 at 12:00 pm in the funeral chapel. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain where the Amherst Veterans Military Honor Guard will conduct military honors.
