Claudina Reyes, 97, Will Be Remembered for Her Singing and Dancing

She was born November 15, 1924 in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico.
She was a past member of the Legion of Mary, El Santo Nombre, the Cursillo Movement and Altar Rosary Society at Sacred Heart Chapel of Lorain. She would also accompany her husband on Eucharistic visits to nursing homes. She always had a bounce in her step, a song flowing from her mouth, a prayer for the sick and unwavering faith in her heart. She was always eager to help those in need whether it was sopas for the sick, una oracion, or un sobo. We will remember fondly her singing, dancing, laughing, poetry reading and storytelling,
She will be deeply missed by her sons, Carlos (Rosemary) Matos of Lorain, Louie (Angie) Matos of Lorain, Victor (Enit) Matos of Lorain, Jaime (Delena) Matos of Cooper City, Florida, Benny (Madalyn) Matos of Amherst, Dan (Darlene) Matos of Lorain; her daughters, Zoraida (Ramon) Garcia of Lorain, Carlita (Bob) Herbst of Avon and Maria (Angel deceased) Matos, her sister Petra Diaz of Puerto Rico, 19 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Alejandro Matos Reyes; her son, Angel Matos; parents Secundino Rosa Vazquez and Cesaria Ramos Diaz; her brothers Pedro, Pablo, Juan and Saba Rosa; and her sisters Merquiades Crespo and Sofia Santiago.
Her family will receive friends Friday, November 18, 2022 from 9:00 to 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain, OH. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am at Sacred Heart. The Rev. Fr. William A. Thaden, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
In lieu of flowers her family suggests contributions to the Sacred Heart Memorial Fund.
