Dolores Mendez, 88, Enjoyed Going to Church and Word Search Puzzles

Dolores was born, March 26, 1934 in Malakoff, Texas. She spent the majority of her life in Lorain after her family moved here in the 1940's. She attended Lorain City Public Schools.

She was an active member of Sacred Heart Chapel her entire life. She was also a member of The Guadalupe Society for many years in Lorain. Dolores enjoyed going to church, coloring, doing word search puzzles and shopping at the mall.

Dolores is survived by her devoted sister and sole caregiver, Hortencia "Tencha" Leibas, whom she lived with these past eighteen years, her nephews, Matt Leibas of Lorain, Mark (Maurren) Leibas of Columbus, Dean (Angel) Leibas of Avon Lake, Vincent (Paige) Lopez of Columbus and niece Tina (Randy) Marks of New London, four great-nephews, three great-nieces and many cousins.

Dolores was preceded in death by her mother, Otilia (née Ybarra) Lopez, her stepfather, Robert Lopez and her brother John Lopez.

Her family will receive friends at the Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain, Ohio 44055. Monday, January 9, 2023 from 8:30 until 9:30 AM Funeral Mass. The Rev. Father, William A. Thaden, Pastor will officiate.
