Gene L. Ward, 65, Loved Spending Time with Family and Friends
Gene L. Ward, 65 of Lorain, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Mercy New Life Hospice following a lengthy illness. He was born August 12, 1957 in Memphis, Tennessee.
Gene worked for Marconi and Nord Center for many years. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially gathering for holiday cookouts with his famous BBQ rib recipe. Gene was a big fan of jazz music and sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys.
Gene will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 23 years, Olga Ward (née Otero); sons Brandon, Christopher and Damascus Jenkins all of Memphis, TN and Gene L Jenkins Jr. (Kasey) of Dayton; daughters Alexandra Hamner (Jesse) of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Ramila Ward of Lorain; brother, Jesse Lofton of Missouri, along with many nieces & nephews, grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Rosie Lee Ward, brother Leonard Ward Jr., and a sister Clara Ward.
His family will receive friends at Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, Lorain, Ohio, 440-277-8164, Friday, February 3, 2023, from 9 until 11 am funeral service. A burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
