Rosario Oyola Rodriguez, 86, Enjoyed Working as a Seamstress

Photo of Rosario Oyola Rodriguez Rosario Oyola Rodriguez, 86, of Lorain, died Monday, January 30, 2023, at home with her family.

She was born October 4, 1936, in Bayamón, Puerto Rico where she lived for 63 years before moving to Lorain.

Rosario was an active member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain, and an esteemed resident of Sacred Heart Manor before she became ill and moved in with her daughter. She enjoyed working as a seamstress and proudly served as the neighborhood's caregiver, nursing and raising countless family members and friends.

She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Rosa Maria (Daniel) Martinez of North Ridgeville, Mayi (Victor-deceased) Martinez of Cleveland and Zulma Oyola of Cleveland and son Juan (Lourdes) of Bayamón; grandchildren Daniel, Caleb, Jay, Katherine, Nicolás, Olivia, Bianca, Patricia and Wynee and great grandchildren, Paolo, Grecia, and Victoria.

Rosario was preceded in death by her parents Otilio Rodriguez and Julia Cruz and siblings Tomas, Domingo, Juan, Gertrudes, Agripina, Lugarda, Castro, Pedro, and Jose.

Her family will receive friends Friday, February 3 from 4 to 8 PM at Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain 44055. Friends may also call Saturday, February 4 from 8:30 AM until 9:30 AM, Mass of Christian Burial, at Sacred Heart Chapel, 3401 Pearl Avenue, Lorain 44055. Rev. Father, William A. Thaden, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
